Many a man think chocolate mousse is for girls. It’s too light and delicate for a man’s hardy constitution and needs. But this is simply not true. This Vegan Chocolate Mousse is perfect for men since it is tasty, easy-to-make, and best of all, chocolaty.
Something that my subscribers might not know is that my favorite type of desserts are cold ones. Not ice cream per se since I’m lactose intolerant, but rather cream pies, tiramisu and of course, mousses.
What makes this vegan chocolate mousse so great? Similar to other dessert recipes here at Naturopathic Earth, it is vegan and gluten free. Why is this important?
Dairy and gluten, the protein found in most flours, are inflammatory to the body. As we have spoken about here at The Awakened Man podcast and several articles here, the conventional dairy in America is shot up with antibiotics and growth hormones, like rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone). The aforementioned have been linked to cancer and obesity.
Plus we eat too much dairy in America, thus resulting in mold, undigested dairy in our intestines. Perhaps it is good to be lactose-intolerant.
In addition, gluten has its problems as well. Though the percentage of Americans who have Celiac’s Disease is quite small (less than 1% of the population), some studies have suggested that up to 60% of Americans have gluten sensitivity. Meaning that when ingested they experience “brain fog,” bloating, fatigue, and more.
So let’s avoid both dairy and gluten with this Vegan Chocolate Mousse recipe. (Gluten wouldn’t be found in mousse either way, but you get my drift.).
Vegan Chocolate Mousse
The key to this recipe is high-quality dark chocolate. You can either go with broken up chocolate bars or chocolate chips. Get the best quality ones since it will make a world of difference. (Click HERE to read our review of “Best Popular Dark Chocolate Bars.”
You need eggs to make a mousse work. Go with pastured eggs over the conventional ones. They pack a nutrient-punch, for one pastured egg equals 6 conventional ones.
Aside from that, throw in the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla to give it the sweetness and you are good to go. Enjoy!
Break the 4 eggs into a small bowl and remove the yolks into another bowl.
